Is Mellow Fellow Safe? Understanding Lab Testing and COAs
Safety is the first question any responsible consumer should ask before trying hemp-derived cannabinoid products. Here is exactly how Mellow Fellow's testing works and what you should verify.
What Is Third-Party Lab Testing?
Third-party lab testing means an independent, accredited laboratory — not affiliated with the brand — analyzes product samples and issues a certificate of analysis (COA). The COA documents actual cannabinoid content, confirms the absence of harmful contaminants, and verifies the product meets legal requirements. Without a COA from an accredited lab, there is no verifiable way to know what is actually in a product.
What Mellow Fellow Tests For
Mellow Fellow COAs cover five categories: potency testing (confirms actual cannabinoid concentrations match label claims), residual solvent testing (verifies manufacturing solvents are fully purged), heavy metals testing (lead, mercury, arsenic, cadmium), microbial testing (bacteria, mold, yeast), and pesticide screening. All Mellow Fellow products must pass every test category before sale.
How to Read a COA
A valid COA lists the testing laboratory name and ISO accreditation number, the sample ID matching the product packaging, the test date (look for current-year testing), potency results in mg/g or percentage, and pass/fail results for all contaminant screens. If any contaminant test shows a Fail result, the product should not be on sale. Request any product COA from our team.
Delta-9 THC Compliance
Every Mellow Fellow product containing Delta-9 THC is formulated to comply with the 2018 Farm Bill's 0.3% Delta-9 THC by dry weight limit. COA potency panels confirm this for each batch. Products are intended for adults 21+ and ship to states where hemp-derived products are legal. See the FAQ for state-specific information.
Our Quality Commitment
Every product in the Mellow Fellow catalog — from disposable vapes to wellness edibles — is batch-tested before sale. This is a baseline standard, not an optional extra. If you ever have a question about a specific product's test results, our team will provide them on request.
